Credentials Dr. Kowalsky received her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin and earned her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from The National College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Kowalsky completed her clinical internship at the Portland Naturopathic Clinic. She completed the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations through the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Examiners and is a naturopathic physician licensed by the state of Vermont since 1997. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Comprehensive Diagnosis Dr. Kowalsky has built a reputation as a successful “medical detective,” diagnosing persistent, challenging and complex medical cases. With her experience and dedication to uncovering the many factors contributing to health and disease, she has achieved high rates of success helping her patients. Naturopathic Oncology Dr. Kowalsky provides a responsible, rational and integrative approach to the treatment of cancer. Naturopathic medicines can help increase longevity, heighten quality of life and reduce the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation while enhancing their effectiveness. Menopause & Women's Healthcare Dr. Kowalsky provides comfortable gynecological exams and pap smears. She believes it's important to support a woman with menopausal or other gynecological concerns using safe and natural bio-identical hormones, homeopathy, herbal medicine and nutritional therapies. Her success in treating hot flashes, insomnia, vaginal dryness, memory problems and osteoporosis makes menopause a lot easier for many women. Becoming a Patient Dr. Kowalsky is very comprehensive and conscientious. All patients are shown the highest respect and consideration. Each person is given the necessary time and attention to detail that allows their case to unfold in its entirety. Each appointment is 45 minutes, at which Dr. Kowalsky will evaluate your medical history, discuss any lab or diagnostic procedures that may be helpful and may also perform a physical exam or run lab work if needed. Dr. Kowalsky will discuss your diagnosis, the efficacy and safety of the various treatment options, and together with you, come up with a plan regarding the optimal way to proceed with your health care. If you have other treatment options from another doctor she can discuss the pros and cons in a way that is helpful and informative to you. If you have worked with other physicians prior to your initial appointment Dr. Kowalsky will review their notes and any diagnostic tests that have already been done. Also, if you see other doctors while working with Dr. Kowalsky, she will review these medical records and provide you with a second opinion if needed. All this is included for established patients as part of continuing care at no additional cost. The appointment fee is $265. Payment is due in full at the end of each appointment. The office accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, checks and cash. If you are a Vermont resident with private or private employer health insurance it is possible that your insurance company will either minimally reimburse you or consider the charges as part of your "out of network" deductible. A special Paid Invoice can be prepared for you to submit to your insurance company. If you are not a Vermont resident or have any other type of insurance it is very unlikely that you will get reimbursed.
